Rochester NY Cement Dock

Rochester New York still gets most of its cement by boat, usually the converted package freighter Stephen B Roman or the ex canaller>unpowered barge Metis. These are generally the only commercial boats still serving the port.

I was surprised to see new docks at the ESSROC>Lehigh Hanson cement terminal, and was told by a local that vandals burned the old one a couple of years ago (that's in addition to the major wooden coal docks and trestles they torched back in the 1970s).

Here are a couple of Google aerials of the recent change at N43° 13.601', W77° 36.981'
