I'm surprised you've seen enough models of lakers to form that opinion... haven't seen too many myself, either in person or on the net.

Weathering is sort of like barbecue sauce... at first you think you won't like it, so you never do it. Then you try it and find out it's good, which makes you OVERdo it. I'm trying to get past stage 2 myself. Doing tugs helps a lot.

My opinion is that people want their models to look good.... the way they wished these boats looked... mot the scraped up islands of steel they actually are.

I have been to a lot of shows and model related conventions over the years and have never seen any weathering techniques used on Great Lakes Freighters. So my question is why not? Thanks in advance for any help.
