Brendan wrote:Hi,
The "Peninsula" is alive and well and working regularly here in Thunder Bay assisting ships in and out of the harbour.
About a month ago she made a longer trip to rescue the "Ojibwae" I think, who lost her engine around Passage Island. The "Peninsula" caught up to her off Terrace Bay and towed her into Thunder Bay

Just thought I'd share pics of my latest project. The real Peninsula is based in Thunder Bay but I don't know if its currently operating or sitting idle due to age/maintenance issues. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. :) I have more work to do to finish it, but it's in running condition.

I'm going to call the local sign place and see if they sell large sheets of styrene or Sintra- might be even cheaper!
I need to take more pics now that I got my tire assortment in the mail; these are the most recent:

I have a build log posted over on RCgroups, it has photos from the beginning.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1160503

The hull is wooden plank-on-frame with a fiberglass coating. The superstructure, bulwarks, and pretty much everything else are made of plastic sheets, specifically those For Sale signs you get at the hardware store.

Great build, how did you build it? Any build pictures?

Handsome job -- particularly like the underwater body painting job - the faded stripes looks like ribs are showing.
