Mr. Shook also owns the retired Harsens Island Coast Guard station that sits on the old South Channel.

Among his "fleet" he has a 44-foot rescue boat, for which he has a Web site and contact info. You can probably find what you need by asking him directly.

In a note posted on the Great Lakes News page here on February 23, it said that a 1909 U. S. Life Saving Service 36-foot Motor Life Boat had been restored and launched. What was the number of this boat in Coast Guard service?

I understand that Jeff Shook, who restored the 36 foot boat also had a 26 foot motor surf boat that had been stationed at the Calumet Harbor Coast Guard Station. What was the number of that boat and what is it's present status?
