They must have had a change of orders then as they were at one point on the schedule to load coal at Toledo. Wonder then where they are headed now?

As of 2:25 pm, the Algoma Enterprise is downbound in the Welland Canal headed to Lock 2. The wrong direction for Toledo.

I don't believe that the Algoma Transfer will be running during this shipping season as this question has been mentioned before in earlier postings. However, the Algoma Enterprise has fitted out as of Friday, May 10 and departed her layup berth in Port Colborne. She is headed for Toledo, Ohio to load coal on her first trip out for the 2013 season.

Anyone see any activity on the Algoma Transfer? Wonder if she will be sailing this year?

Thanks for your report and information Wayne as I appreciate it very much. Wow, so she will be out running then I take it all year long and running the salt trade again in the winter 2013/14 and then laying up in March 2014? Sounds like a lot of work scheduled for her in both 2013 and the winter of 2013-14. She is due to load coal in Toledo sometime this week so, I assume that this will be her first trip and load of the 2013 season for her? Glad to hear that she is coming out as I have yet to see and photograph her.

Enterprise getting ready to go out in next couple of days. Once out, plan is per dock this past week, she'll be out until at least March 2014!

A huge thank you as I did not know that and have not kept track of her. Thanks a million for your report and update as I appreciate it very much.

Olive L. Moore departed Erie a few minutes ago bound for Toledo.

St. Clair is bound for Silver Bay, Minnesota as far as I know to load iron ore pellets. Walter J. McCarthy Jr. also sailed from Bay Ship at Sturgeon Bay sometime on April 16 as well. The Herbert C. Jackson has her AIS signal on for a few days now. I have not yet heard any further news on the tug Olive L. Moore and when they should be leaving from Erie, Pennsylvania? They will be heading to Toledo first to pick up the barge Lewis J. Kuber which still remains in Toledo.

At 19:30, St. Clair has entered Lake Erie, although the AIS marker still shows her January 13, 2013 destination information.

Just saw on the AIS map, the Algorail departed her layup berth in Sarnia sometime this evening and is now in Lake Huron heading up.

If I remember correctly, she was supposed to leave on the 17th but, could be out as soon as tomorrow the 16th. Looking at the Duluth Shipping News' website, she is due to load iron ore up at Superior BN5 on the 18th I think it is. So, she should be leaving tomorrow by right and be up at the Soo Locks then on the 17th. The St. Clair should also be pulling out of Toledo any day as she is due next in Silver Bay to load early on the 19th. Lee A. Tregurtha should be leaving also tomorrow as she is due in Silver Bay on the 18th I think it is. Finally, the Herbert C. Jackson also has her AIS turned on as well and she should be pulling out of layup anytime.

Thanks for the update and photo of the St. Clair and the Algosar Bob as I appreciate it very much. Looks like no paint work done on the St. Clair this winter from your photo. I would have thought that the Toledo boatnerds might be out there doing some paint work on her LOL! As for the Algosar I saw her on Saturday in Sarnia loading for the Soo. Don't know either when she sailed either Friday or late Thursday for Sarnia. Didn't even take photos of Algosar as the weather stinked up there on Saturday with rain, snow and wind yuk. I know I'll see her and get better weather and photos of her sometime this year.

Algosar, I think left Friday. St. Clair checked Sunday, still has its anchors out. It looks like it has ballast water on board.

Thanks Toledo Guest for your news and update on the St. Clair as I appreciate it very much. Heard "through the grapevine" that the Olive L. Moore will be leaving Erie, PA. soon to head for Toledo and mate up with her barge the Lewis J. Kuber also. Any word yet on when the Algosar will have her winter work done and be leaving from Toledo? She must have lots of work that needs to be done on her as to why she is not out and sailing yet.

Thanks Bob for the update and photo of the Algosar. I see now on the AIS it looks like Manistee will be pulling out of Toledo anytime now and she has Marblehead down on her AIS for 0600 tomorrow. So, with that it looks like she will be leaving either late tonight or early tomorrow morning sometime. Any word yet on when St. Clair will be sailing from Toledo? I am surprised ASC hasn't had her out and sailing yet. Must be a lot of work needs to be done on her yet or something? Also, Algosoo is showing up also on AIS and she to should be leaving layup from Sturgeon Bay soon. Her AIS shows she is due in Gary, Indiana sometime tomorrow to load a cargo.

Stop by the Ironhead Marine Drydock in Toledo. There was no one out front in the gate building. Looks like they are still working on the Algosar. I noticed two guy working up forward deck and there is a crane in front of the aft deck housing.

Bob have you heard anything yet on when the Manistee, Algosar, St. Clair and the Lewis J. Kuber all might be leaving from Toledo? Don't know what if any work is being done on the Algosar which is in the small drydock at Ironhead but, she should have been out by now I would think. In years past the Algosar has been out by now.
