Thanks, Ohio Bob. I appreciate the honor.

I'm sure there would have to be some divisor in the cylinder displacement formula Les. Let's see: 454+454+183+264+110=1,465 covers the boats. Better go check those specs on the trucks, cars, lawnmowers, etc, etc, etc.

You get a Lifetime Achievement Award for your past counts Les.

Hi, Ohio Bob.

Always wanted to ask you if you have a permanetly affixed fueling hose connected to your NQFCC.

Also, if you change to total displacement, will that give you an adcantage in this great yearly endeavor?

I'm no longer eligble as we now are in a senior facility and have no gas powered engines other that our one car.

Oshkosh Dave - we may have to figure out an alternate formula that is based on total displacement... I know you have that covered well!

Gotta love those old Evinrude's and Johnson's. That is where I cut my teeth on boat handling - a single 10hp Johnson slung on the back of a 16' aluminum rowboat. A far cry from twin screws and bow thrusters.

Hi Ohio Bob, my count is still around 28 and holding sorry to say. And that picture of the Johnson outboard sure brings back memories. My dad was a Johnson man and we had a 28 horse Johnson outboard from the 60's which is long gone, but the little 9.5 horse outboard with the low profile is still in my possesion and runs great. Happy Boating this season!

Those are some of the best cylinder counts out there - rest and recreation related! Of course my NQFC Carver gets me 20 on it's own thanks to twin 454's and a big 4 cylinder genset.

To Guest in Toledo,

I had the same type of outboard engine on my boat before selling it during a nasty divorce a few years ago. I cannot say enough good things about the Johnson engine. Mine was from the mid-1960s (older than I) and it ran beautifully and was very dependable. During my years of boating I remember a number of times in which I witnessed engines a lot newer than mine breaking down. If I were to buy another boat today, I would not hesitate buying another Johnson engine like I had. Hope it keeps giving you dependable service for years to come.

I have a cylinder count that is below 30 that won’t win the top prize this, or any other, year. But, I’m adding my CAI this year in memory of the Lady Pirate and all who loved her. The CAI is a great annual tradition and I hope it continues for years to come. My oldest and most cherished cylinders are my Johnson outboard that’s always started, never quit, and outlasted 2 hulls.

Since acquiring another "toy", my count has topped out at 61. But if I can't get the %$#@* lawnmower running soon it may drop down one.

Looks like I am good for a few more years.

I thought it was 24 but remembered that my leaf blower is electric.
