Tom - Lots of folks don't even know that we have a merchant marine. the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point New York is one of our federal academies training students and had 279 incoming students on June27th of 2017. on September 30,2017 they celebrated their 74th birthday. each year students can be appointed from each state if " they have the right stuff' !
