1978 was the last year for the keeper on main duck and shortly after 1980-1981 all the light houses where unmanned.

When and where did the last Lighthouse Keepers leave their posts on the Great Lakes.

I know here, in Canada, we still have a few that have keepers on the east and west coasts but none on the Great Lakes.

Also, what were their specific duties in terms of Search and Rescue? Marine Traffic Control?

Thanks in advance,

M
