[125.00] (Sold)
Shipping [25-30.00]
Description:
Available for sale is a solid cast brass Kondu light was recently removed from the former Imperial Sarnia, while she was in the process of being cut up for scrap. The vessel was built at Collingwood Ontario in 1948 and operated until laying up in December 1986 at Hamilton ON. She has spent the last 27 years as the stationary storage barge Provmar Terminal II in Hamilton harbour.
The light itself came from the interior of her aft accommodations and has had many layers of paint removed before the red brass was cleaned and lightly polished. The light consists of the solid brass cage that threads into the brass base and covers a glass globe that threads into the inside of the base. It has also been rewired with a switch enabled cord that allows it to be plugged into a wall socket and switched on and off like any lamp. It is in good condition and operates perfectly.
I am selling this light to help offset the cost of other items I purchased from the vessel. Shipping within the US and Canada will likely run at around 25.00-30.00 due to its weight, but I will get and exact quote and charge cost only.
Also available:
1. Imperial Red steel gauge from Sarnia's engine room. Reasonable condition. $15+ship (Sold)
2. Maumee Deck Rinsing Log (about 20 pages used) and 2 Grand River Navigation orientation booklets from two different years. $15+ship for the group. (Sold)
3. Calcite II Ballast Tank Calibration Tables framed chart dated 10-10-1977 from the back of the pilot house next to the chart table. 40.00+ship. (Sold)
Please contact me with any questions and requests for more photos, or to make an offer.
Thanks!
