Re: CRH Cement, Mississauga Cement Plant
That's correct, cement carriers do not typically visit the plant. Ownership was originally St. Lawrence Cement, then Holcim now CRH.

The plant receives:
-Stone-Robert S. Pierson dedicated run
-Slag-Algoma
-Coal-Algoma
The plant ships:
-Powdered cement/clinker to Duluth and occasionally the East Coast. (Algoma bulkers handle the Duluth loads, Desgagnes/McKeil the East Coast runs)

That is incorrect, her registry has been updated to show MCKEIL WORK BOATS GP INC as her owner.cpfan wrote:Denny:
I think that the Roman was operated by Algoma on behalf of Essroc.
She is still owned by Essroc but now managed by McKeil.

Anyone have the destination of Evans McKeil and Metis? I see they are showing ETAs all the way through the Seaway to St. Lambert downbound.

You should avoid putting the locations of accessible places on a public forum, drawing attention will inevitably lead to more fences. It has happened before.

Re: Hamilton layups
The news reports Algosteel and Mississagi laying up in Hamilton yesterday. The HPA site shows Algosteel in Toronto and Mississagi in Lake Ontario at anchor off the Burlington beach. I thought Mississagi had loaded loaded sag for Cleveland. Algosteel and Algosoo departed and laid up in Toronto. Miss...

It's a long shot, but does anyone have a picture they can send/post of the interior of the Wescliffe Hall's (of 1957) wheelhouse? I'm trying to identify an artifact.

The single bow anchor seems odd. So is the bow mounted unloader rig. Reminds me of the old Canadian Ranger. Bow shape with the flared combing reminds me of the American Courage & the Great Republic they're similar to the Laud & Buffalo, but the flare seems a little more pronounced. It has t...
