I was on the Laura L. VanEnkevort-Joseph H. Thompson last year. We had a crew of 15 and rotated 30 on 15 off.

The Wallschiff sank roughly straight across from the Fort Gratiot Rear Range Light on the Canadian side of the river.

I see lots of older photos of upbounders passing Johnson's Point on Neebish Island. My question is can photos still be taken from there or is it all closed off by private property now?

Has the Joe Thompson not been renamed? She officially listed as the Detroit Trader now...what name is painted on her?

I heard the conversation between the Tim McKeil and Baie Comeau setting up the passing arrangement at St. Clair on the radio. The McKeil's captain admitted that "this tow is a handful". He didn't specify why, but let's be sentimental and say the old lady wasn't ready to go!
