I have always wondered that too! I heard the US Steel deckhands rode it standing up. Kinda always figured it was a story, like hosing the deck in the winter wearing only brass jockstraps.

A wreck containing remains of the crews that died on them should be off limits to all divers, in my opinion. It's shocking to me to hear stories of people posing for pictures with the dead on these ships. Looting the dead of their belongings such as the ring shows a huge lack of respect. Jared, you ...

I sailed vacation relief on 8 different Oglebay Norton vessels in all 3 departments. I liked decking on the Middletown, but my favorite is the Buckeye. Ironically I live in Buckeye, Arizona.
My least favorite was decking the Columbia Star(Omar) and the Reserve.
