The stern anchor on her is a modification that was doen after she was constructed and to retrofit a chain locker was way too expensive so the authorities allowed this set up. I know as I was on her for her "Canadianization" as we refer to it!

I watched some activity in Port Colborne with the ship Algosea today Feb 18 2013.
looks like she is getting ready for a early departure.
The cranes were there lifting her Hooks from shore, while i was watching,i noticed she uses cable instead of chain on her stern anchor.
Is this something new? Ive always seen chain,but not today.
