The National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio is selling the paintings of Dave Hart as a fundraiser to match a $30,000 grant toward the Schoonmaker museum ship's operations and maintenance. Dave Hart as reported in the Toledo Blade and on boatnerd is a recently discovered marine artist who has been volunteering aboard the Schoonmaker for a number of years. Dave Hart has decided to donate all of the proceeds from the sale of his art to the 30/30 campaign. Thirty two of the over sixty paintings sold at the member only preview on May 12.

The remaining paintings are the E. G. Grace, Frank Armstrong, Frank Purnell, Blanche Hindman, Parker Evans, Helen Evans, George Hindman, Red Crown, Comet, Rocket, Lehigh, Edward Townsend, Thomas Wilson (under Columbia Steamship Company), Leon Fraser, Robert C. Stanley, J. Burton Ayers (under Great Lakes Steamship), Sidney E. Smith (under Erie Sand Steamship Company, John T. Hutchinson, George Sloan, Enders Voorhees, Joseph S. Wood, Chicago Trader, J. H. Hillman, and Clarence Randall. All of these paintings are unframed. Framed paintings include John P. Reiss, J. L. Reiss, Peter Reiss, and Raymond H. Reiss.

Paintings are $175 to $250 each. Contact the museum staff and they will take a photo of a desired painting a email it to you.
