This is a brass porthole and deadlight that was obtained from International Marine Salvage in Port Colborne, ON. The glass in the porthole is obviously broken, but it is replaceable. There is a threaded retaining ring that unscrews to replace the glass. I've seen random pieces of porthole glass on ebay for less than $40. Or replace it with lexan, a mirror, etc. The porthole frame is solid brass. The deadlight is cast iron and reads Great Lakes Engineering Works Shipbuilders Detroit. It's hard to see in the pic, but the lettering is raised and cast right in to the iron. These measure about 14" in diameter. They're heavy, so its best if they could be picked up rather than shipped. Not sure what ship they came off of, but it was something IMS scrapped before 2005. These are very old as the leaded glass has turned purple from UV exposure. Email me for more info. Thanks!
