Carol Lake, built for Carryore Steamship, a Canadian Hanna affiliate.
She joined the Menihek Lake which had come out in the late 50s.

Why that would be the Carol Lake launched in 1960. Later known as Algocape and Mapleglen. After 42 years she was towed away to Alang for scrap in the fall of 2003.

She was certainly among the finest looking boats in the Canadian fleet.

ID Ship in Collingwood 1960

Unread post by jp- »

I recently saw this picture hanging in the Loblaws Supermarket in Collingwood, ON. I believe it was taken around 1960. I am wondering if anyone can identify the ship in this pic. It looks like the first name is Carl.

Any info would be appreciated
