Erie might not host either of these GLF vessels and have a spare mooring to offer. Thunder Bay laid up in Erie two years ago, so its not completely out of the realm of possibility.. Especially with her current destination of Nanticoke. Or she may be bound for Colbourne afterward.
From vessels passages:
CASON J. CALLAWAY - 14/1010 outbound Conneaut, Ohio Breakwall destination Gary, Indiana ETA 17/0500 to unload. 14/2330 arrive Zug
Island dock in Detroit, Michigan. 15/0139 depart Zug Island dock.

That's a surprise as I didn't think any CSL ships would end up down in Erie for lay-up this winter? I thought that I had read and heard from sources there that they were to have "four vessels in lay-up for the winter there." The tug/barge combo Dorothy Ann and the Pathfinder along with the Ken Boothe Sr. and Lakes Contender and the Presque Isle. Also heard the Callaway at some point was also supposed to lay-up in Erie unless that was changed? So with that I count four vessels in for lay-up at Erie this winter unless I might have missed something and Yes, I've also checked out Facebook pages from Erie and that's what I saw listed so far at least there.
Denny, the Welland was originally scheduled to layup in the Canal. But it might have changed. The Martin was to layup in Owen Sound after she took a storage load for the Frontenac, but she took the Goderich load for the Frontenac and now looks like it will be Thunder Bay for her. The Thunder Bay was to layup in Thunder Bay, but, betting she goes to the Canal now. CSL should have a couple more of their big box jobs in the Canal for the winter. There were suppose to of been 4 CSL ship in Thunder Bay including the Frontenac. Tadoussac was not included in that count. But to make your day for coming back on, CSL asked a couple of their older engineers what it might take to get the Tadoussac running next year. Answer, lot of work, but it can be done. They're looking good for next year.
Hi Guest and thanks for your reply to my questions as far as the CSL Welland. No need to apologize for not having an answer for my questions either as I don't expect now to be getting anything from the boatnerd community as it appears that no one has any type of answers for my questions on her. As far as me being back on this page posting again, thanks for your kind words but it sure hasn't been an easy journey back either. Many may have noticed my "absence this winter and especially for reports on the Port Reports and the Lay-up list." That is because I've been sick with the flu for more than two weeks and can't seem to shake the dang stupid thing no matter what! Also, No my Mom has not had any type of surgery yet as she has had more serious issues come up as to why they can't do it. Since mid-November, she has been in the hospital 6 times believe it or not. I will Not post details other than what I've said so far and sorry to go off topic here. It sure has not been a good winter so far for both my Mom and I and was hoping that all of our health issues and curses from 2016 would have ended but, I think they've carried over now into 2017! I am hoping the rest of 2017 somehow gets better or else I am considering retiring from boatnerding as I've had more bad years in the past four years than good ones. I guess time will tell on that issue!
Well Denny I can't answer your question about the CSL Welland but I can say that it is "good to see you back and posting" after your noteworthy absence. I do hope you had a "great and wonderful Christmas and New Year's" and that your mother's surgery went well, my friend!
Can anyone please tell me when the CSL Welland laid-up at the Morterm Terminal in Windsor? She was supposed to have unloaded a cargo from Thunder Bay for the ADM Dock in Windsor and they listed an ETA for Windsor on January 7 at 10 A.M. however, I don't know if they ever arrived at the ADM Dock to unload? Did they go then just to the Morterm Terminal for lay-up and then will unload their cargo at a later date and time? If anyone has any information that they can provide to me for any possible lay-up dates on her, it would be very much appreciated as I do not know of an exact date to go by as far as her laying up in Windsor. Thanks for any help.
