In reviewing some my old marine journals, I read about the Herbert C. Jackson suffering a four foot crack (I'm assuming in length not width!) in its hull in early December of 1980.
This required temporary patching in the St. Marys River before the vessel was allowed to proceed to its destination. Does anyone remember this incident?
