I remember seeing the Burns Harbor and Lewis Wilson Foy on the St. Clair River on very rare occasions during the late 1980s and early 1990s. I know the Burns Harbor unloaded at Zug Island at least once in the early 1980s. I'm assuming some other loads went to Ohio ports.

You are correct as far as the Bethlehem facility in Lackawanna as being one of their unloading ports in 1980s. They may have also unloaded in such places like Cleveland, Ashtabula, Toledo along with Zug Island as well. I don't know for sure if they unloaded in any those ports I just named but, I would think it is a safe bet they probably did at some point in the 1980s. Hope that this helps out.

Lackawanna's hot side shut down in 1983 & ore cargoes stopped right then & there. They had come in previously, but not after '83.

I remember these ships passing through the St. Clair River from time to time through the 1980s. What were their discharge points on Lake Erie? I believe that Bethlehem Steel only had a facility at Lackawanna at the time.
