The Heritage tugs Taurus and Edward H, after a long journey from Maine, entered the Duluth entry about 1:30 PM today. The Taurus will be renamed Nels J, the Edward H was previously the Fort Point.

The tug Nels J that Heritage Marine had was sold to Dean Marine & Excavating based in Mount Clemens, MI. It has been renamed Madison R, and left Superior, WI this morning. However the AIS still shows it as the Nels J as they have not updated the settings. This evening it was off the Apostle Islands.

Who in Detroit bought the tug?

That's some serious horsepower for Heritage. The Taurus is rated at 4,400 HP and has a z-drive unit on the bow. Can't think of any assist tug on the Great Lakes with that kind of power. The Fort Point is a more reasonable 2,000 HP.
