I heard it was 1 June. Thunder Bay grain loaders said they would not load any CSL vessels as of the date of the strike. Must be why CSL has a couple of ships sitting up there. Frontenac on her way there. CSL was hoping to get her loaded and out by the 1st, so the Union must have called the strike notice early. They had one more ship to vote on the 28th. I heard at 1930, on the 28th they were going to give the notice after the final votes were taken. Very interesting information!

One has to appreciate, it's all about the money. The companies are so fixated about the bottom line, to the point there losing sight of the purpose, by exploiting the work force all the more, to gain more $$$ but only returning a small portion thereof to the fleets in wages and maintenance cost.

Of course this is all under the ruse of so called safety, and our employees are our greatest assets, propaganda at it's best, disguise their greed.
We are not whiners, we have rights, and we advocate for those rights, in a positive manner, too bad the companies have not entered the 21 century.

They wonder why no one is pursuing this career. The threats from management has been ingrained in the culture for a long time, fundamental changes are certainly required.

To the union members in the world of compromise – don't!
