Some of the ship tracking sites show her currently at the Johnstown/Prescott Grain Elevator with a status of "stopped", so she must have been freed overnight.

I find it strange that the earlier reports indicated the Seaway was in effect closed as no one was allowed to pass her while she was stuck (although apparently outside the main navigation channel).

Yet if you go to the Seaway notice pages at:

http://www.greatlakes-seaway.com/en/new . index.html

and

http://www.greatlakes-seaway.com/en/new . index.html

there's no mention of the incident or any closure/restrictions.

Is there some secret website the Seaway has to communicate "real" news/notices?

Wow, Ogden Island, there's a blast from the past!

That was the intended landing zone for Kenny Powers' unsuccessful 1979 attempt to Jump the St Lawrence River in a rocket powered Lincoln Continental (a yellow one at that):

AIS shows her aground abeam the west end of Ogden Island. There are three ships above Iroquois at the moment. She has a destination shown as Nanticoke.

Can any one confirm if the Damia Desgagnes is aground above the Iroquois Lock in the St Lawrence Seaway?
