I show that a Charles P. Sampson sailed as First Assistant engineer on the whaleback Henry Cort in 1907. He sailed as Chief Engineer on the City of Bangor in 1921, Chief Engineer City of Bangor in 1922, Chief Engineer of the City of Bangor in 1923, Chief engineer of the City of Bangor in 1924, and Chief Engineer of the City of Bangor in 1926. He was sailing as Chief Engineer of the Senator in 1929 and survived the 10/31 collision with the Marquette. He sailed as Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1936, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1937, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1938, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1939, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1940, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1941, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1942, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1943, Chief Engineer of the Crescent City in 1944, Chief Engineer of the D. A. Moloney in 1944, Chief Engineer of the D. A. Moloney in 1945, and Chief Engineer of the D. A. Moloney in 1946. In the late 1930's, he was apparently residing in Sodus Point, NY.

Looking for information about Charles P Sampson Marine Engineer from ? to about 1946. He was on the Crescent City for about 10 years and a survivor from the sinking of The Senator.
