They are slop tanks and under certain conditions , they can be used for cargo.Only the Algocanada and Algonova have them not the Algoscotia.Many tankers have these tanks inside the hull

Some of the Algoma ones also have the large tanks like you mentioned. Among those that have them are the Algocanada, Algonova and Algoscotia all of the newer build Algoma tanker vessels. Look close at photos of them sometime and you should see what I am referring to on the top deck similar to the Maria Desgagnes and her setup as well.

Maria Desgagnes

While looking at the Maria Desgagnes I believe off loading Gasoline at the Shell dock on the St.Claire,I noticed large tanks on the top deck.Are these tanks LNG tanks to fuel the engines? thank you mn brett
