Offhand, I can't think of any single publication or public database that will list what you are looking for in an easy to use format. But here are some ideas.

Greenwood's Guide to Great Lakes Shipping - $80.00 US for print version. Lists companies, mailing addresses and vessel statistics for US and Canadian firms. Doesn't cover fishing vessels, and coverage of small maritime construction contractors is often spotty. http://www.greenwoodsguide.com/

Know Your Ships - $18.95 US for print version. Another publication geared towards covering large commercial vessels, it still has great coverage of ferries, tour boats, and tugboats as well. Provides company names, city and website (if available) but not an actual mailing address. Doesn't cover fishing vessels or smaller work barges. http://www.knowyourships.com/

Transport Canada Vessel Registration Query System - free online database. Using the advanced search you can search by province, home port, owner, vessel size, vessel type and other attributes. http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/4/v ... spx?lang=e

Waterborne Transportation Lines of the United States - Free PDF documents. Volume II lists owners, while Volume III lists vessel data. Does not cover fishing vessels. Suggest using the Adobe PDF search feature in volume II and searching on key words like Huron, Clair, and Erie. http://www.navigationdatacenter.us/vesl ... slchar.htm

Good luck drumming up business and I hope you have enough water to keep the marine railway usable. If I recall correctly the slip was dredged not too long ago.

I'm looking for work for our 400 ton marine railway.

Where can I find a listing of commercial vessels in Georgian Bay and Lakes Huron, St. Clair and Erie who may have a use for the railway?
