This just in from U of M -- 3 assistant coaches have been given a salary raise. they now make over 1 million dollars each per season. one assistant coach makes 1.4 million per year - plus benefits ! not a bad days pay for a bunch of cry babies. now the team gets to collect frequent flier miles as they travel to Italy. go figure.

I can assure Denny and guest that I enjoy watching a 'quality' coach lead his football team. Unfortunately harbaugh would rather cry and complain than learn how to become a winning coach. You do NOT see 'quality' coaches scream in the face of officials, throw there headgear and hat onto the ground and get 15 yard sideline flags tossed at their team. "Quality' football coaches do NOT spend there summers taking there football team on a 'dog a pony' show begging high school players to play football at U of M. Let's face facts here - harbaugh took over a football program which was in TOTAL dis-repair just before he was run out of S F and about to get fired ! I enjoy watching the four teams selected to be in the playoffs and there 'quality' coaching staff. You DO NOT see these coaches doing a 'turkey trot' on the sidelines - period ! One must remember that the coaches at these colleges are teachers first. Unfortunately the coaches at U of M are teaching there players how to wine and complain - not play football !

Soon I'll start a hockey thread and we'll see what Denny and guest know about the game of hockey. I hope it's more than they know about college football !

Mike sounds like a Michigan fan to me. Why would an Ohio State fan be frustrated over Michigan's season? I'm an Ohio State fan and always have been, but I respect Harbaugh and want him in the Big Ten for the sake of the rivalry and the conference.

For Michigan, this season will be about what could have been, but they wouldn't even be here in the first place without Harbaugh. The guy is a great coach, no question. Hoke had better players than this and the team sucked. Michigan paid Harbaugh to win, and look- Michigan is relevant for the first time in a decade. I can't imagine what coach you would rather have in his place. I don't think Urban Meyer and Nick Saban are available.

I think crying and whining Mike is an Ohio State fan from the looks and sounds of it? Also agree with you Guest as he is indeed very frustrated right now from the sounds of it. Geez, if Mike is this bad now what is he going to do when there is no more NCAA Football to watch after the Playoffs are over? Hope Mike is then a Hockey or a basketball fan but, knowing him he will be frustrated with whatever his favorite hockey or basketball team is that he follows as well.

Looks like U of M is on the outside looking in on the playoffs. Maybe they should fire their over-paid coach and get a real coach. I'm going to miss harbaugh's 'turkey trot' antics on the sidelines while watching the playoffs ! Can wait for his 'dog and pony' show this summer.

Congrats to Western university on winning the MAC title with a p-e-r-f-e-c-t 13-0 season ! P J Fleck coached the Bronco's to the ONLY Michigan college to earn a Cotton Bowl invite with there unbeaten record this season.

Western University is playing Ohio this Friday night ( 12/2/2016 ) for the Mac championship at Ford field in Detroit. Kick off time is 7 :00 p m. This should be a very entertaining game. I think ESPN will be televising the game.

Just because OSU is out of the Big Ten Championship doesn't mean they won't make the college football playoff. Nothing is guaranteed though. But you don't have to win your conference to make the playoff, you just have to be one of the four best teams in the nation.

Anybody who has watched OSU this year knows that our offense is young and inconsistent. Barrett has struggled throwing the ball all season long (he has horrendous accuracy), and the offensive line other than Elflein and Price are inexperienced and vulnerable, which leads to more struggles for Barrett. Add that to the fact that our team has ZERO established wide receivers - Michael Thomas and Jalin Marshall were our only ones and they went to the NFL - and that's a recipe for a terrible passing offense when you play Michigan, who boasts a top three defense themselves. OSU did run for over 200 yards on Michigan between Barrett, Weber (another freshman) and Samuel, so our offense did not struggle in that regard. If our passing offense clicks soon, watch out. Just remember the Nebraska and Maryland games.

Well, I've been watching big 10 football for over 50 years and I've never seen a larger bunch of crybabies in my life than U of M - period ! they play too rough, they tackle too hard, the ground was too hard, the bus ride was too long -- on and on it goes. the truth is they lost on a bad coaching call to go for a field goal - not the 1st down in the 2nd O T. they were out coached - period. you don't hear other big 10 coaches complain about the refs in a close game do you ? the after game remarks by harbaugh were over the edge. a $ 10,000.00 fine ( to the school - not harbaugh ) is 'pocket change' to a school who is paying the coach 7 million dollars per year. my final remark is - ' suck it up buttercup -' you lost once again this year !

Well I wouldn't gloat too much about Michigan "choking and losing as usual to Ohio State again!" Okay so what they lost to OSU and didn't get the Big 10 Title and they finished at 10-2. Don't forget too that Ohio State at 11-1 lost to Penn State and who is going to be playing in next week's Big 10 Title Game? The answer, it is not Ohio State but rather Penn State from the East Division of the Big 10 Conference and Not your Ohio State Buckeyes! Ohio State IMO got exactly what they deserved a little bit of redemption along with some payback thanks to Penn State beating MSU and knocking the Bucks out of the Big 10 Title Game. Granted I know that we will never agree on this along with many others but, my brother tells me and I agree 100% that Michigan got screwed by the officials not so much on the 4th and 1 play but on other calls during that game as well. One play the ball sailed over the receiver and was never catchable yet there was interference for that? Then the one they missed where the OSU guy had his hands all over the UM player was another miss. I found it amazing that if OSU is as good as they claim to be, then how come the offense struggled for the first 3 quarters and why couldn't OSU put them away early on? Guess OSU isn't as good as people make them out to be in order to go to 2 overtimes to beat Michigan. Oh How I love Penn State and thanks to them for beating MSU and knocking the Buckeyes out!

What do you get for 7 million dollars per year at U of M ?
1. another loss in the O S U game - now 5 straight wins for O S U
2. a $ 10,000.00 fine from the big 10 for post game rants on officials
3. a 15 yard penalty for side line antics - 'turkey trot' violations

What did Mike get on this game ?
1. a very nice Samsung 70 inch flat screen T V

harbaugh was out-coached once again. the entire U of M coaching staff should be fired for going for a field goal in O T and not the first down. everyone knew that the O S U field goal kicker was 14 for 14 going into that game. that kicker 'sucked them in' by missing 2 early field goal attempts- and sending the game into O T on his 3rd attempt.

thanks U of M -- my T V looks G-R-E-A-T .

I want to thank O S U for my new flat screen T V ! at noon I left my house to shop for a new flat screen T V at best buy because my old T V was no longer working. yes, I knew the big game between U of M and O S U was on at noon but, my two brothers and a neighbor wanted to watch the game on my smaller T V as I went shopping. the check out lines were almost out the door. upon my return home, the O T had just started and my oldest brother kept telling us how great U of M was and that they were going to win the game. I bet him $ 300.00 that O S U was going to win ( even bet - no points ) and the bet was on ! during the 2nd O T harbaugh lost the game for U of M by going for a field goal ( not the 1st down ) and O S U came back with a T D. U of M went down in flames, mike picked up the bet and I'm thinking of going back to best buy on Sunday and getting the larger T V. I'd also like to thank over-rated U of M and jim harbaugh for doing their usual - loosing against O S U .

Western University destroyed Toledo on Friday ( 11/25/2016 ) to finish with a 12 and 0 record. they become the ONLY college to hold a perfect win record this season, now they are thinking 'cotton bowl' -- well we'll see on that one. congrats Western -- go Bronco's

tugboat, you make a few good points but, facts are still facts. every week I enjoy seeing the point spread on games. I've even tried to pick 8 out of 10 games on bet slips. most time the odds on games are VERY tough to beat. the folks who set the odds look at ALL factors of the game, injuries, field conditions, past records ect. every now and then they make mistakes but, I've never seen a 'poor' odds maker !

Teams are offered bowl games based upon their record - AND - their schedule during the year. teams playing a 'soft' schedule do not usually get ' prime time' bowl offers. more money is bet on college football than any other sport.

Mike, I have to respectfully disagree with almost everything you said in your last two posts. You mention that U-M hasn't covered the spread in several wins. I would argue that Vegas often doesn't have a clue what they are doing when they come up with these spreads. It's much better to not worry about what vegas thinks, and to just watch the games. You can learn something new every week by simply watching. Not every team plays the same way every week. For example, we have seen that Michigan State, despite a horrible season, can still play very inspired and competitive games against their biggest rivals. Vegas doesn't take that into account.

If you remember, for the Big Ten championship game in 2014, Vegas had Ohio State as the underdog against Wisconsin. OSU won by 59. Of course, I'm not really into betting, but I do my best to ignore anything the bookmakers say and simply focus on the results in the football field.

You also said that Washington and clemson deserve top 5 rankings, but OSU and U of M don't because of their schedules? What good team has Washington beat this season? Stanford? I don't think they're good at all. Clemson has played better competition, but they haven't blown anybody out, all their games have been closer than they should be. I remember you knocked Michigan for only beating Wisconsin by 7, but Clemson has played closer against much worse than wisconsin (who is ranked #5). Keep in mind that OSU had scored 62 points in back to back games before playing MSU on the road in the snow. That's hardly an excuse for how their offense looked, but last year OSU played horribly against MSU before bouncing back to clobber Michigan in Ann Arbor.
