Research vessel Sturgeon left Alpena earlier in the week and spent the better part of today in waters off Tawas City. In late afternoon, she tied-up at the State Harbor and drew a small crowd of spectators. Her crew seemed to enjoy explaining their mission and answering questions.

So what's so great about Tawas/East Tawas?
