It is environmental sampling. Both the US and Canada have multiple agencies that study and record the water on both sides of the borders.

Isn’t the USCG doing this?

Is it possible the CCGS regularly checks on the water, weather, and navigation aids on the American side of the lakes? Isn’t the USCG doing this?

CCGS Limnos has visited Toledo twice this year. After making the passage through the shipping channel to Torco/CSX/USCG Toledo station, it never docked. Both times it turned around and left the port. Does anyone know why? TIA
