I don't know if this will be of any help, but if you'd like to have something in hand to study, you might try to locate a model of a hospital ship made by Revell models. This is a plastic, authentic scale model with a 2-piece hull and was available as the USS Repose (AH-16?), and the most current issue as the SS Hope, (formerly the Sanctuary?, AH-?). The ships and the model are based on, I believe, a C4-S-B2 MARAD configuration, with an added helo deck on the stern. I am currently converting one to the Joseph H. Thompson. Previously I have done the Paul H. Carnahan from Revell's T-2 Mission Capistrano tanker model, as well as the Cliffs Victory from their VC2-S-AP5 Montrose/Haskell Victory hull amphib transport model. I did the conversions much the same way the shipyards did the real things.

There is also a SNAME paper titled "Conversion of C4 class ocean vessels for Great Lakes service / by the Maryland Drydock Co" that is part of the Historical Collections of the Great Lakes at Bowling Green State University. Item call number is "gli p4031". Bob Graham might be able to tell you whether or not the paper contains any hull line drawings.

Maybe John Belliveau / Digital Ship Yard could assist you as he has drawn the Patton / Girdler / White / Browning .

Or possibly from the Smithsonian.

C4 stern blueprints

Hello I am wondering if anyone out there knows where I can find blueprints of the curves and form of a C4 stern. I dont need the whole vessel, preferably just the stern as the model I am building I have enough of the rest to work with. So anything that shows a C4 stern like the Aquarama, McKee Sons, Joe Thompson, Girdler, Patton, White etc.... even a standard unmodified C4 would be wonderful. Any help would be great. Thanks.
