I echo Andy's comments and say exactly the same thing as he does bookworm. Also I too know that I will get back up there again at some point on the river as this year I only made it up there three times and it was lowest total I've ever had! Not going into any details but, too many bad things happened and came up for me in 2016 and just hoping for bigger and better things and brighter days for me in 2017 since it will be my 25th anniversary season up there on the St. Clair River. I wish you well bookworm and as many have said here, please keep us updated on how you are doing and please come back and visit us sometime as we all would like to hear your progress and how you are doing. If you ever make it back up to the river again, please post some of your photos here for all of us to see and enjoy. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for your diligent posts over the years. After living in St. Clair County for over 25 years, I moved about 50 miles southwest several years ago, which makes it hard for me to get the river as much as I would like, a situation aggravated at times by the lack of boats. Your photographs have always kept me in touch with my old stomping grounds. I know on a few occasions our paths must have crossed, or nearly so, as your posts would be from the same vantage point and time as my own shots. I wish you well in your move and hope that you find other photographic opportunities in your new surroundings. Please don't be a stranger to this board!

Many thanks to you for all of the posts and pictures you shared over the years. Especially so for the photos during the times when the news channel wasn't posting pics. They were very appreciated by me. My best to you in the future for what it holds for you. I'm sure you will miss being by/near the river. My hope is that you will be able to find time to get back there as you're able. Again, my best to you.

Sad to hear the news Bookworm as I never got the chance to meet you in person and share some stories with you and visa versa from you as well. I echo many others' comments here and also would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for all the years that you have posted your photos. I cannot express my thanks and gratitude over the years since I have struggled mightily in not making it out to the river as much as I would have liked. Your photos have helped that problem tremendously for me and it helped to bring the river and the ship traffic home and like others have said, it made it more closer and less far away than it really is. As a suggestion for you here Bookworm, maybe the good folks with boatnerd could save your images into some type of album or use them as part of their website in some way or another just a thought. I too would like to wish you all the very best Bookworm as I have enjoyed your posts along with your photos and comments here. They have sure been a blessing and have brightened many days for us. Next year 2017 will be my 25th anniversary of when I started out on the river and looking forward to next season. God Bless you Bookworm as you now move on to another chapter in your life. Please keep us all posted here on your progress whenever you can. We will miss you!

Best of luck to you Bookworm on whatever you do. Your posts will be missed. Port Huron is my hometown and your posts were the link that made it seem not so far away.

Your photos will be missed. I've really enjoyed them over the past few years. Thanks for helping a former sailor re-live his youth. All the best to you.

After living near the St. Clair River for five years, I will soon make a major change and move quite a distance inland. I have loved photographing and sharing the ship traffic and other features of this beautiful river with readers of this forum. I will surely miss it. Also, I want to thank you for your words of encouragement and appreciation for my posts. I wish life's best to each of you.
