I was looking at the Duluth News Tribune this afternoon and came across this obituary. The name will probably mean nothing to anyone, but me. Dan was my roommate for a few months in 1971 on the Clarke. Dan was the 8-12 deckwatch. After he left the Clarke our paths never crossed again. He was one in a long line of shipmates who, at the time, helped train an 18 year old rookie. Always wondered what happened to Dan. Today I know. May you rest in peace, "Spider".
