Tarantau Self-Unloading Boom Question

Counterweights frame for boom belt tension, if I remember correctly.

I have attached a cropped image of a section of the unloading boom onboard the Tarantau. I have circled an A-frame type structure that is attached to the top of the boom near the pivot point. Does anyone know what the purpose of this structure was? Did it have something to do with preventing the cables from becoming fouled when the boom was raised?
