I saw her and another carrier a few summers ago sitting in Newport Rhode Island ,the other carrier was still there late last summer, nothing last forever sometimes I wish it could .

Was the location where those photos were taken publicly accessible?

Actually, the US Navy paid All Star Metals of Brownsville, TX the penny to take the ship. The Forrestal will be towed to Brownsville for dismantling

Was a picture of her in the news photo gallery with a caption wondering what her fate would be. That was actually decided a few weeks ago. She has been sold for the sum of 1 penny to a firm in Brownsville Texas for scrapping.

They were going to sink her whole in the ocean after taking her off donation hold. Wish that had happened. She'd give useful service one last time as a target for tests and it's a more dignified end for the world's first super carrier and a survivor of a tragic accident off the coast of Vietnam.
