In regards to the stadium issue, there are quite a few NFL venues that need to have new stadiums and upgrades to their existing ones. Take for instance in Minnesota with the Metrodome look at what happened their just a few short years ago when the snow caused the roof to cave in? The Vikings are wanting to play and have a new stadium built somewhere but, will it be in Minnesota? Then the Raiders play in Oakland a stadium built in 1966 and even older than Buffalo's Ralph Wilson Stadium. They have talked about moving the Raiders around in Oakland for years. I could go on and on about the older NFL arenas but, these are just a few of them.

Yep, an old owner that ran his team into the ground. Thats what we got. The family has stated in the local media that they have no intention of keeping the Bills when Ralph dies & my guess is that they will be sold out of town to the highest bidder because, frankly, there just isn't enough money here to keep them when we're up agianst places like Toronto or LA. Those larger, more wealthy areas have the financial draw to take the team away from us in a heartbeat.
IMHO the stadium here is a huge problem too. It may be the lone reason they have to move some day. Its way out of date & in disrepair. I wouldn't even consider it to be up to NFL standards when compared to the newer places being built like in Dallas or Indy, or the rebuilt older buildings like in Green Bay & Chicago. There is no money here to build a new one & I can't see them playing in the one we have now for many more years.
Buffalo may soon be a town with only one proffessional sports team left & the Sabres have some of the same problems that the Bills have in the office & on the ice. The same coach for 13 years & no cup? Bad management & multi-million dollar players that play below their level & don't produce? People laugh at us for that.

Brian I could't agree with you more on your comments about the Bills, the players along with the ownership and the front office people and staff. It seems that the Bills can never seem to beat the Patriots and the Jets anymore in their own division. They have not had any good quarterbacks since the days of Kelly and also Doug Flutie and where are they at now? They haven't had a good offense since the 1990's and their run to the Super Bowls and also their defense has stunk as well. I also agree with you on the fact of their draft choices and their free agent signings as they don't seem to do anything. Regarding the ownership, yes Ralph Wilson is over the hill at 90 something and I heard once that after he goes the Bills may be sold and possibly up and move out of Buffalo. Then again, look at the Raiders organization and when Al Davis was alive and ran them as it sounds familiar to the Bills don't it? You have an owner that wants to put his nose into everything.

I can't speak for other teams, but as far as the Bills are concerned, I don't see anything short of a total change out at ownership, management, coaching, & players as having an effect on the field. The whole organization needs a clean up from top to bottom so they can shake this looser mentality that they have. They're just not any good at what they do & have become a running joke for 10 years now. They haven't drafted, signed, or hired the right talent from the field to the main office since the late 1980's or early 90's. Garbage in = garbage out.

I am still feeling a hangover from my Buffalo Bills getting run over as usual by Tom Brady and the Patriots. Yikes 52-31 or whatever the score was ouch. And to think the Pats scored 31 points alone just in the fourth quarter. What gets me is who are these teams that are 4-0 this year as in the Cardinals, Falcons and the Texans and the Saints are 0-4 this year? Glad I am not a Saints fan and on their bandwagon. Then again, sorry to say to the Pack nation that the Packers are struggling along with Steeler nation as well. At least it's still early in the season yet so anything is possible. Then again the Lions are still the same old Lions at 1-3 and if there is anybody that thought they were destined for great things after last season, I don't hear them talking now do you?

I think those teams chose those state names to "regionalize" for marketing purposes & broaden their customer base by apealing to more people to draw on.

I thought the Minnesota teams would sweep the Detroit teams Sunday, but the Tigers came back and won the game. They are above 500 ball. Now, if they can hang on for a couple more games! The Vikings hung on for a win. They haven't beat the Lions in two years.
Here's a question for you sports fans. Why do only a hand full of teams use the states name when referring to the team, such as the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, but most use a city name such as Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, etc. Do the states not want to be associated with the teams or what?

I know its still early but, just checked the Tiger game being played this afternoon, and they are losing again 4-0 in the fifth inning and if they keep on losing, eventually they will end up at 500 for the season as far as wins/losses. Rick Porcello was pitching in the game this afternoon and next up is a weekend series against the Yankees in New York. Oh well, there is hope Tiger fans as this weekend is also the Football draft as well. Just wonder who the Lions will pick this year? Will the Lions draft picks be a bust or not?

What has happened to our beloved Tigers lately? They started out so good the first week of April and then the last week or so they have fallen flat on their faces. Could it be the fact of playing in the colder April weather compared with playing in the sunny and warmer climate of Florida and Spring Training? It seems I recall once before the Tigers struggled due to those exact same reasons years ago in April and May and then as the weather warmed up, naturally they started getting hot. Could we be in then for a slow start and then a hot finish then for the "Boys of Summer?"

Our good old Twins are 0-4. Taking up right where they left off last year. They haven't been off to an 0-4 start since 1969, 3 ballparks ago.

Anyone starting to believe in the "Eye of the Tiger" yet? If you are not then shame on you as now we are off to a 4-0 start. Let's not forget that the Wings start their playoff run tonight as well. And if you remember a few years back when they played Vancouver in the playoffs, they were just about down and out, came roaring back beat the Canucks and eventually went on and won the Cup. So, my slogan is just simple "Don't Stop Believin from Journey!"

Well, the wins keep on coming and in dramatic fashion and style. To think the Tigers are the hottest thing in baseball right now and the talk and the toast of town much less the country as well. Hard to believe that they are now 3-0 already and have a great chance of being 4-0 on Tuesday. Rick Porcello pitches the next game for Detroit and he pitched very well for the boys last year. The only drawback, the weather is not good for Tuesday with it being windy, cold and raw for a day game I think it is. Oh well, you can't always win every game as much as you would like to.

Well Tiger fans, how about your Tigers now? First they came from behind in classic Tiger style on Opening Day with a 3-2 win in the bottom of the ninth inning. Then today Wow, a 10-0 blowout of the Red Sox, topped off by Cabrera with two homers and then the Prince with two more homers. Add in a record crowd of 45,027 on Opening Day and another 44,000 again today at Comerica Park. Needless to say this team will set all-time attendance figures this year at Comerica Park. Also, the history buffs always talk about the 1984 team that started out 35-5. I think that this team could be better than the 1984 squad and even top that 35-5 record. Anyone care to give your insights on those amazing Tigers? All I can say here is Go Tigers and let's make a run for the title in 2012!

I predict the chicago cubs will surprise eveyone this season and its going to be Detroit and the cubbies for the world series. Cubbies win in 7. Detroit will always be my team since I grew up in michigan but im also a die hard cubbies fan too.
Atleast the cubs will win more then my home town indianapolis colts this season. Being in indianapolis for four years now ive never seen a city go into a depression because of a sports team.

I'm worried about the Red Wings ! They have most of their injured players back and their 'Power Play' continues to be 'very' weak. Their 'big time' players continue to look 'out of sink' on the ice.
They are not out-shooting the other teams like they did most of the year. When a team like the Blue Jackets ( in last place ) can come into the 'joe' and beat the Wings _ things are not looking good !
The defense continues to struggle. Let's hope for the best.

The Twins season kicks off tomorrow, Fri, 4-6 against the Orioles. The Twins home opener is next Monday, 4-9 against the Angels. Right now we have to cheer on the Gopher mens hockey team in the semifinal game of the Frozen 4 tonight, and hope they win and advance to the championship game on Saturday night.

Well in case anyone missed it, the Tigers came from behind and won their opener in style in the bottom of the ninth inning with a game inning hit with the bases loaded. Yeah Baby and Go Tigers! Could this be the year of the Tigers and perhaps the Wings too? Time will tell. The Tiger score in case you missed it was 3-2.
