Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Anytime there is an event pitting New York vs. Boston it's a TV ratings match made in heaven. These are 2 of the biggest markets in the country and a natural fan rivalry. San Francisco/Baltimore would have been a ratings disaster. And the Super Bowl is all about TV ratings and maximizing ad revenue, which is why it starts when it does and runs through prime-time. Plus the network can dump 5 hours of pre-game hype on us. My prediction is: NY 34, NE 28.

I think it's about time they start the game at a 'fair' time of day. Everyone has had to wait until the west coast folks get 'out of bed' before we start the game ! I suggest a starting time of 4 EST. That would mean the game would be over at a respectable time for the east coast fans.

I'll bet TV didn't want a game with both teams being from the same area. No east coast vs west coast, no north vs south, no midwest vs anyone rivalry, only two teams from the east coast, 250 miles apart. You think Billy Cundiff is feeling pretty low?

I see a low-scoring game... maybe something like 24-17 and I think the Giants will beat New England just like in '07.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Now that we know its going to be the Giants and New England I live in Indianapolis but grew up in Saginaw Michigan ill always be a lions fan at heart. What do everyone think the score will be? Im going to go with New England because Tom Brady has been to the super bowl 5 times and I dont think Elli Manning has what it takes to win the big game not in the shadow of playing on his big brothers turf. If the game was played anywhere else things would be diffrent. Its going to be a great game and I think it will be close and high scoreing. My guess is New England 42 and New York 39. Anyone else have any predictions?

I think we're going to see 49ers-Patriots. That's a good offense-defense matchup. I personally hope the Niners go all the way.

Well, it is Championship Sunday and the winners go on to play in the Super Bowl and the losers go home. Anyone got any picks or predictions as to who's going to the big party, dance and game? Although I doubt it will happen, I would love to see a matchup between the 49ers vs the Ravens since both coaches are related and they are brothers. I think though the TV networks want the Giants since New York is a bigger TV market. Should be a fun day!

The Lions could have beaten the first string Pack yesterday. The 'cheese heads' should have put the second string in at half time !

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
I am just glad to see that the Patriots gave it to the Broncos and also Tebow as I was getting so sick and tired of the media just blowing the Tebow stuff way out of proportion. Although it may not happen, think about this for a minute the Ravens vs 49ers in the Super Bowl. You would have the first brother vs brother matchup in a Super Bowl as far as the coaches go and man would the media just go stir crazy on that one? In fact, you can have the Super Bowl renamed the Harbaugh Bowl and remember these same two clubs played on Thanksgiving Night on NFL Network.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Well, the Lions went 10-6 and played one post season game. The Packers went 15-1 and also played only one post season game. There is no guarantee you will go far in the play-offs regardless of how well you played in the regular season. This puts an end for the chance of a Super Bowl winner coming out of the North Division.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Well it looks like the Packers dream of another Super Bowl title has officially ended courtesy of the Giants 37-20 at Lambeau. I guess that Grandpa Cheesehead must be feeling a major hangover right about now as well. Lots of missed opportunities and dropped passes by the Pack which is very uncommon for them. Also, there goes my Pack vs the Pats Super Bowl prediction as well. Well I am now saying the Pats vs the Giants in Super Bowl 46 and a rematch from the game in Super Bowl 42 when the Giants shocked the world and upset the Patriots to end their run at perfection.

Vikings are done and out. Time to move on.
There was televised winter testing at Daytona today.
Got my NASCAR fix for the day. Haven't seen a race since the Homestead race the Sunday before Thanksgiving!

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Sorry - I just woke up from the BCS game between LSU and 'Bama.
What a disappointing playoff game. Looks like a lot of coaches lost their jobs the past two weeks. Many coaching openings will make for an exciting time next year.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
Yeah, I can see Buffalo also in the Playoffs tugboathunter that's providing that coach Chan Gailey can improve from 4-12 to 6-10 to what for 2012? Also, if WR Stevie Johnson can stop acting like T.O. and Ochocinco and some other showoffs. Perhaps maybe if Buffalo can get an owner who cares about winning and opens up the money books and starts spending to get actual talent and players to help them win along with a coach with a drive to win, then maybe the Bills can be almost as great as they used to be.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
It looks like Buffalo can be really good if they get it together. They played some really great games this year. I can see them in the playoffs in 2013.

Re: Buffalo & Detroit, destiny or fate?
With the Lions finally making the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season and Go Lions BTW, I would like to know of the 3 teams the Bills, Raiders and Browns which team has the best chance and potential to break the next playoff drought following our Lions? The Bills were last in the playoffs in 1999 same as the Lions, while the Raiders and Browns were last in during 2002. These 3 clubs the Bills, Raiders and Browns have all struggled with difficult seasons, coaching changes, Super Bowl losses and playoff and other hangovers. Just wonder amongst the 3 clubs, who will be the next one to breakout and finally make the playoffs?
