Sold - Vintage 1930's Sextant Navigating Instrument

Unread post by John »

Sold – Vintage Boyce-Meier sextant in original box with original instructions.

From some online research I learned the Boyce-Meier Equipment Company of Bronxville, NY produced this die-cast instrument in the mid-1930’s and it was designed to be an inexpensive learning alternative to more expensive sextants. It was used and endorsed by the Boy Scouts of America and other groups to learn navigation at sea or land.

- Sextant is in fairly good shape with sighting tube and bubble level but does have a slight amount of rust on the handle, the first sighting mirror is damaged with age and the second sighting mirror glass is missing.

- All pages of the Instruction manual appear to be there, some yellowing with age and a rust imprint from the sextant handle from sitting in the box.

- Box is original but in poor condition.

This would make a nice decoration to add to your nautical room.

Asking $12 including shipping.
