Two others include:

http://www.shipbuildinghistory.com/

This site does an incredible job of documenting the original construction of US and Canadian ships. But it often has disposition information as well. Organized by builder. The search feature is kind of hidden at the bottom of the main page but helps you find vessels by ship name.

and

https://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USN/US ... #minecraft

This site is geared towards military vessels but includes information on a few civilian vessels (such as many oilers and the Florida East Coast railroad car ferries) that were taken over and converted into military service. It also lists hundreds of vessels that started out as military vessels but were converted to commercial use after the war.

I was wondering if any of the users know of any websites that are similar to this one but covering ocean merchant vessels from the World War 2 era? It seems that historical data for many ocean ships of that time period is hard to come by.
Here's one I've used in the past.
