So in the last 10 years or so, the ALPENA, BLOUGH, ST.CLAIR and now the CUYAHOGA have caught fire in shipyards or layup docks. Did I miss any?

What's up with that?

The Cuyahoga. From where the fire appears have originated and dense black smoke it would seem to indicate the blaze involves at least some portion of the conveyor belt system. Is it just me or has there been an increase in ship fires over the past several years? I know there was the occasional fire over the years but it just seems to have become more common even though the fleet has considerably shrunken in size.

Heard second hand that a ship is on fire in Ashtabula. Anyone local know if this is true?
