Two ships carried that name. You likely want the second of the two. Here are pages for each with some basic information and a picture of each.

Additionally, the first vessel is notable for being driven ashore in a gale. She was recovered but deemed a constructive total loss and was scrapped. And the second vessel is notable as being the first vessel on the Great Lakes built to the Isherwood system of longitudinal framing.

I'm looking for any pictures of the William P Palmer that anyone may have. It was the first ship my grandpa (Lon Fincher) worked on as a deckhand and I'm working on a project of his first and last ships. If anyone has any pictures or can tell me where to find some I would greatly appreciate it, can't find anything from Google.
