Brian you are correct. It was built as the Temple Bar and buiilt in 1970 in Scotland. Bought 5 years latter by Nipigon Grain Transport and rebiilt in Singapore. Question for Brian? Were you a deckhand on the undaunted in 2000?

That would have been the Algonorth which was built as a saltie and lengthend, cargohold and deck rebuilt at a shipyard in Singapore in 1977. She kept her ocean-style bow throughout her whole career on the lakes.

you could be referring to the ferry nindawayma, it was built in spain as a refrigerated freight, converted to a ferry, ended up crossing georgian bay, laid up in owen sound, went to quebec to be a cable ship, towed bact to port weller drydocks. acquired by purvis and eventually scrapped at the canadian sault. p.s. it had many different handles {names}

I heard from a guy that a saltie was scrapped at the purvis yard at the soo. Is that true? If so does anybody know which saltie it was?
