I tip my hat to Interlake Steamship Company for continuing its long history of modernizing its vessels, and for significantly reducing the exhaust emissions of its current fleet.
Even though it's no longer a "steamship" company, I hope Interlake keeps its full existing name. My first encounter with a Great Lakes boat was going through the Poe Lock on a tour boat alongside the Charles M. Beeghly. I read "Interlake Steamship Company" on the bow and thought that was the coolest name ever. That encounter helped spark a lifelong interest in Great Lakes shipping. I'd be sad to see that bit of the fleet's heritage disappear.
