Appears to have been a spelling issue. Van Rensselaer Point (a/k/a "Lighthouse Point") is at Ogdensburg, New York, where the Oswegatchie River flows into the St. Lawrence, the location of a French fort built there in 1749, and a later mansion.

I have come across a reference to a Van Ressailer Point in the St. Lawrence River but cannot find any information on it online. I was wondering if anyone knows about this location, or is it a misspelling?
