So far this year I counted 5 ships at wharf one unloading.
The material is fertilizer being taken by truck to the Mitchell Ontario area.
From memory its been about 25 years or so since GM brought casting sand to that location.

I had noticed lately in the port reports a lot of activity at Wharf 2, just north of Lock 1. Quite a few vessels were stopping there for what seemed like a quick drop off. What was being delivered there? How many ships used the dock this year? Many moons ago GM used to get sand for the casting operations from here and many kids sandboxes were filled too!! Merry Christmas everyone!!
