Read on Facebook this evening the boom was raised on her in the shipyard, so must not be ready to sail as of yet.

How times have changed. I realize I quit sailing in 1979, but in the 9 yrs. I sailed I might have seen 1-2 Canadian lakers load in Two Harbors and very few load at the ore docks here in Duluth.

I was aware of Canadian boats loading in Two Harbors, this is the first time I have seen anyone come in stern first. I thought this was only done for tight quarters.

Thanks Garbear and Denny. You've proved we're never too old to learn something new. Now, if Lee A could just get out of Frasier and up there for her (delayed) load!

Although it is rare for them to load at CN in Two Harbors, Canadians have loaded there in the past before the visit by CSL Laurentien and I am sure someone else will have more info on this than I do though.

I've done the Port Report for Two Harbors on the news page since the end of July last yr. I've got 45-47 pellet loads departing Two Harbors since then on Canadian lakers. Algoma boats take their pellets to Hamilton and Quebec City and the CSL boats take their pellets to Nanticoke and Quebec City. The loads that go to Quebec City are re-loaded onto ocean bulkers for mills in Europe/Asia.

Watched the CSL Laurentien going into Two Harbors today, came in stern first then rotated to go into loader bow first. Never noticed a boat coming in this way before, any idea why?
