Indeed that does sound exciting Dan and glad you got to see that many of them. To rephrase my thoughts on this post though, I am referring to the hours that EDay is usually from 9-3 so anything during those hours not before or afterward as the ship has to be there during those hours or years ago when they used to have it from 10-4. An example again is to take in 2017 as the Joe Block was the only vessel there between the hours of 9-3 if I’m making any sense here which I hope that I am?

We were up there a few years ago when it was foggy the night before. The next day (Engineers Day) there were like 27 boats up and down. Very fun day!

Just wondering with four weeks left until Engineers’ Day, I happen to think about these questions “What is the most amount of ship traffic to go through the Soo Locks during Engineers’ Day and what year was it?” Second, “What is the fewest and least amount of ship traffic to travel through the Soo Locks on Engineers’ Day and when?” As for the fewest, I would say last year in 2017 had to be the least and fewest one with only the Joe Block the whole day! Just wonder if there’s ever been a year or time to where there were no ships on Engineers’ Day and when that may have happened? Finally, what year did they have as far as the most 1,000 footers on Engineers’ Day and how many of them ended up going through the Soo on EDay? Sorry for so many questions but I was just curious as I don’t believe there’s any records of this kept other than with the USACE which I don’t think has ever made this info public?
