First thing I did. No census taken between 1905 and 1909. Unless they were married like Steward Smith, Capt McLeod etc they lived on board and so don't show up in the city directory. I am looking at where they came from, how many brothers, sisters they had, that kind of thing. If your looking at writing a book you want to give a background to the crew not just a name.
I am not trying to be smart but the article says he made Conneaut his home for the 4 yrs he was on the ferry. I am taking it you checked Conneaut, Ohio.[/quote]
