In April of 1977 when I fit out the Charles M White we were rafted on the outboard side of the Joe Thompson in Lorain. The morning I arrived in Lorain with my dad who had driven me down there we climbed the boarding ladder onto the Thompson and saw the bronze plaque mounted on the forward bulkhead on the spar deck. My father took a photo of the plaque but unfortunately I can't find the negative.

I don't know at what point things like that are removed from ships sold for scrap. But I suspect that answer as to where the plaque is might very well be the bottom of the Atlantic near the Azores.
