The Lakes Carriers Association awarded plaques to the five ships that picked up survivors of the Steinbrenner disaster in 1953. The plaques were attached to the ships and remained there until the ships were scrapped. I have located four of the five plaques, three in museums and one still attached to the only ship that is still in service. I have been unable to locate the plaque from the Kerr and would greatly appreciate any information about its location. Thank you!
