She had a tug when she left the Candan Soo and was out in White Fish Bay, but she doesn't seem to have a tug at present. Sure, don't make much speed....

If you don't mind ... what tug(s) are doing the towing? There are none shown on Marine Traffic or AIS.Boatnerd.

I can't help but wonder if the new owner/ operator of this ship is possibly trying to save money on upkeep and maintenance.

The correct status should be "Restricted Maneuverability", not "Not Under Command" if they are restricted to one propulsion engine.

The American Spirit has been displaying "not under command" for a few weeks now. It's because she's been having mechanical issues and is running on one engine.

I'm sure the problematic engine will be repaired during Winter layup.
