As other posters have already replied, the Canadoc had no relation to the Republic Steel C4s that were later part of the Cleveland Cliffs fleet. I believe the style of the Canadoc's pilothouse and forward cabins were in common with those of the Sir Denys Lowson (later Vandoc) and Mantadoc (later Maritime Trader and Manitoba) with the exception that it had one extra deck. This made it something of a unique, possibly ungainly, looking vessel especially when riding high at the bow while in ballast. I recall seeing the Canadoc many times on the St. Clair River during the 1980s before its sale for scrap in 1991.
