The big Colt Pielstick diesels are typically 12 to 18 cylinders and have a 15.75- inch bore and 18.11-inch stroke (400 mm by 460 mm). Vessels with the locomotive type EMD 20 cyl engines are a bore of 9-1/16”(240mm) Stroke of 10”(354mm) with comp.ratio of14.5-1. Not sure on CAT installations though, I wonder if the old Mississagi ( ex- GA Sloan) still has her CAT?
